Police Investigate Shots Fired
File: 2025-72804 (SP)
Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers are investigating a shots fired incident at a business that occurred sometime between August 23, 2025 and the morning of August 25, 2025.
Shortly after 9:30 am on August 25, 2025, SPS Frontline officers responded to a call of a possible mischief or attempted break-in to a business in the 12800 block of 80 Avenue, Surrey. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the damage to the door of the business was the result of several shots being fired at the door from outside. Officers checked the business and neighbouring business and fortunately there were no injuries to anyone.
Surrey Police Service Frontline Investigative Support (FLIS) Team has assumed conduct of the investigation. Officers remain on scene examining and securing evidence and will likely be canvassing the neighbourhood for any CCTV footage. At this early stage, investigators believe that the motive may be extortion related.
Anyone with information about this incident or anyone who may have been in the area over the weekend and has dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 25-72804 (SP) or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
