On June 11, 2025, at approximately 3:45 pm, RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) Frontline officers responded to calls of a shooting near the 15900 block 84 Avenue, Surrey.

SPOSU officers attended the area and located a male suffering life-threatening injuries. Despite life saving measures, one man succumbed to his injuries at scene.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now taken conduct of this investigation. This is Surrey’s third homicide of 2025.

The investigation is in the early stages and IHIT is working in partnership with Surrey Police Service and RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit officers to complete priority tasks.

While the motive is still under investigation, the incident does not appear to be linked to any ongoing investigations.
