Police Seek Public's Help to ID Assault Suspect

Surrey Police Service (SPS) is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in a recent alleged assault incident.
On January 19, 2026, at approximately 11:45 am SPS Frontline officers responded to a call from a victim who alleged they had just been assaulted by a man who approached them in the Central City Mall parking lot in the 10100 block King George Boulevard, Surrey.
The victim had been walking through the parking lot when they were approached by a man who asked them if they wanted to buy a cell phone. When the victim declined, the man allegedly assaulted the victim before leaving the area in a vehicle.
Police are hoping that the public may be able to assist the investigation by identifying the suspect (see attached photo). The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male possibly 40-50 years old, 5’10” tall and with a heavy build. He was wearing black shoes, tan-coloured pants, a light-coloured shirt, a black vest, and had a large gold chain necklace.
