SPS News Release

On Thursday, June 5, 2025, Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers arrested a male 15-year-old suspect after a 14-year-old male victim was stabbed.

Just after 3:00 pm yesterday, SPS officers were called to the area of 132 Street and 70B Avenue for a reported stabbing. A victim was quickly located in the area with a significant stab wound. He was assisted by SPS, Surrey Fire and BC Ambulance personnel prior to being transported to hospital where he continues to receive treatment and is listed as being in stable condition.

Surrey Police Service officers then began searching for the suspect involved. Just before 5:00 PM they located and arrested a youth suspect a few blocks away from where the victim was found. The investigation is continuing.

Members of SPS Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIST) have been engaged and have assumed conduct of the investigation. While the motive for the stabbing is still under investigation, the incident does not appear to be random, and the two parties know each other.

Anyone with information about this incident should contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 25-46016 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
