Kyle Friesen, current Legal Advisor to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in British Columbia, will be joining the Surrey Police Service (SPS) on April 1, 2021 in the role of in-house legal counsel.

The building of the Surrey Police Service (SPS) continues to gain momentum with the Surrey Police Board and CUPE 402 entering into a Memorandum of Agreement with respect to the future transfer of City of Surrey employees to the SPS to support its operations.
