Project IRIS (Integrated Resources for Investigation and Safety) is a voluntary program that allows residents and businesses to register their closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in a secure, online database that is managed by the City of Surrey.

Project IRIS (Integrated Resources for Investigation and Safety) is a voluntary program that allows residents and businesses to register their closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in a secure, online database that is managed by the City of Surrey.

Evidence needed to solve a crime can sometimes be recorded by a nearby CCTV camera. If an incident occurs, police can view the list of registered addresses through IRIS. Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers will then contact the registered camera owners to request access to recorded video footage. IRIS will help expedite criminal investigations by reducing the time it takes police to track down CCTV cameras after a crime has been committed.

Project IRIS is a partnership between the City of Surrey, businesses, police and the community and is part of the Public Safety Strategy.

Register your camera now

Your footage could help gather evidence for an investigation. All it takes is 5 minutes to register your addresses that have security cameras. It is a secure, easy and voluntary. Play your part in making the community safe for everyone.

Registration and continual involvement is completely voluntary and you can withdraw at any time. Registration does not give SPS direct access to your cameras, but simply allows us to contact you using the contact information you provide, to request access to review recorded video footage
